Congratulations to Mike Hartin on winning the 46th JP Traynham.
The J.P. Traynham is a 36-hole, individual stroke play tournament that has been held since 1971 (except 1979 when the course was under renovation), always over the last weekend in April. Many of the area’s best players have competed in the event over the years – three time winners include Dillard Traynham, Kyle Turner, Johnny League, Mike Gravley and Marcus Grumbles.
J.P. Traynham, who became the second greens superintendent at Greenville Country Club in 1925, opened Paris Mountain Country Club in 1938. He became an expert and helped many clubs change from sand to grass greens. He was one of the early pioneers in promoting golf.
Winners of the 1st Annual Tucker Hipps Memorial Tournament: Jon Birckbichler, Shane Birckbichler, Jeremy Revis, and Tim Mauldin with 12 under. Thank you to everyone who supported this event and all of the players, donors, and volunteers who helped make it happen.
